Martian Mountains

In southeastern Iran, Martian Mountains or Miniature Mountains are badlands stretched out parallel to the Gulf of Oman. The excavation of many fossils belonging to fish indicates that Martian Mountains were under water in ancient times. The geometric patterns of the mountains have been created by rapid soil erosion caused by wind and rain as if a skilled painter has carved them.
